Top Comment: Same thing happened to a friend. Turns out the previous owners found a crack in the water tank. They removed it and left money to replace it.

It was in a weird spot, so the inspector didn’t see it. He saw that there was some water earlier. There was condensation, but he thought it was just the age of the toilet + outside humidity.
