Denzel Washington’s transformation into civil rights leader Malcolm X in Spike Lee’s 1992 film is flawless. From the early days as Malcolm Little to the fiery orator and finally the wise Hajj pilgrim, Washington mirrored every phase of Malcolm’s life.
Washington studied Malcolm’s speeches for months and even wore his real glasses. The resemblance was so strong that audiences felt they were watching history unfold. It’s still considered one of Denzel’s greatest achievements.
